The China Import and Export Fair, also known as the Canton Fair, was founded in the spring of 1957 and is held in Guangzhou every spring and autumn. The Canton Fair is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and the People’s Government of Guangdong Province, and organized by China Foreign Trade Center. It is a comprehensive international trade event with the longest history, the largest scale, the most complete commodities, the most buyers, the most extensive sources, the best transaction effect and the best reputation in China. It is known as the first exhibition in China and the barometer and vane of China’s foreign trade.

The Canton Fair will be held in three phases, each lasting 5 days, with an exhibition area of 500,000 square meters, 1.5 million square meters in total.

The first phase mainly focuses on industrial themes, including 8 categories of electronics and household appliances, machinery, building materials, hardware tools and 20 exhibition areas; The second phase mainly focuses on the theme of daily consumption goods and gift decoration, including 18 exhibition areas in 3 categories; The third phase mainly focuses on textile and clothing, food and medical insurance, including 5 categories and 16 exhibition areas.

In the third phase, the export exhibition covers 1.47 million square meters, with 70,000 booths and 34,000 participating enterprises. Among them, 5,700 are brand enterprises or enterprises with the title of manufacturing individual champion or national high-tech enterprises. The exhibition covers an area of 30,000 square meters. For the first time, an import exhibition has been set up in all three phases. Enterprises from more than 40 countries and regions such as the United States, Canada, Italy, Germany and Spain have indicated their intention to participate in the exhibition, and 508 overseas enterprises have participated in the exhibition. The number of exhibitors in the online exhibition reached 35,000.
